Last one of the Year

Good evening from HQ, and being Saturday night can only mean one thing..........YES, Strictly come Prancing is on the telly and instead of me moaning at the telly, I have been paced off to the office with a 4 pack of beers and told under no circumstances to disrupt the "Final" (fixed as it may be), I mean, why not just let them dance all they want and do their best and then let the dancing panel / TV Execs decide who they think deserves to win!! I mean, "it works in F1!!"

Anyway, moving away from so called satirical comments here and there and back to the blog...........

Well folks, what a year we have had........

We did everything we could to make the first of our rallies work, but back in March 21, it was decided that we would move our 2021 Veterans Banger Rally from the UK-Gib route to one around the UK.

The amount of work that went into the changes was immense and rightly or wrongly, I received some negativity from those not wishing to change to the UK only run, but we went ahead anyway and from what feedback I have had from some of our teams that took part, it went well (ish)

* Problems with routes

* Problems with some hotels

* Some teams complaining about the mileage we undertook

* Some teams complaining about the number of voluntary challenges that were set.

This was all taken onboard and will be the base for making the future rallies bigger and better moving forward.

Thank you to all 48 teams that took part in the rally and to the few that did not make it to the end for various reasons, I wish you all well and hope to see you again soon on future rallies.

A personal thank you to a team that was seen to be epitomize the feeling of the event, was the team, "Sharpe's Trifles" who became the unofficial "Mechanics on call" and did their very best to ensure that most of the teams continued in the rally. Unfortunately, they are only human (up for debate) and one or two teams did suffer terminal vehicular failures.

This team deserved their accolade of "Spirit of the Event" award.

Moving into 2022......

We are looking ahead to our three main events for 2022 with optimism and excitement in equal abound.

1. UK 1200 - A jaunt around the UK staying in some quality locations (Sold out event)

2. Run 2 the Rock - Banger Rally from the UK to Gibraltar over 6 days

3. The Veterans Banger Rally - UK to Gibraltar in a £500 banger over 5 days

Obviously, it goes without saying that with the ever changing tides of "Covid" and "Omicron" and the changing rules and regulations, we will be keeping abreast of the situations as and when they occur, but as this blog is being written, all events are still going ahead as planned.

We have had a great response from a lot of potential customers from our recent trip to the NEC in Birmingham and also from our recent social media advertising and marketing campaigns and we hope that in 2022, a lot of you will convert that interest into action and join us for some of the rallies.

Planning for 2022 and 2023 are in advanced stages and meetings are lines up in London, Bournemouth, Leeds and Glasgow for the early part of 2022, with regards to sponsorship for the veterans banger rally and also we have had an increased number of enquires from around the globe regarding our events, including

*Jersey

*Germany

*Spain

*Canada

*Australia

So, we must be doing something right on social and mainstream media.

A massive thank you to each and every one of you that has commented, liked and share posts across social media in 2021 and we hope that you will continue to support us moving forward too.

Our events are ideal for a number of reasons, such as

* Significant Birthdays

* Career Milestones

* Reunions

* Family gatherings

* Adventure

* Or just a big piss up!!

No matter what your level of driving ability is, we will welcome you along for the journey.

We are pleased to say that we have also been offered for the Veterans Banger Rally, the mechanical support of "The Resurrection Crew", who will be on hand to support any breakdowns or mishaps along the way.

We halve also been approached by 3 teams from the Royal Chelsea Hospital (The Chelsea Pensioners) and we look forward to working alongside them on our rally.

With the upsurge in media interest, we will be looking at working with some of the biggest names in the media world to support our rallies in the UK and Europe moving forward and although, I am unable yet to comment on which TV companies will be involved (Due to contractual agreements) I am sure you will all be happy with the level of coverage we will be receiving during 2022 and 2023.

Obviously, we are in a very fluid position when it comes to organising events, with the for-mentioned "Covid" and "Omicron" and whatever comes along next, but rest assured, we will be working our little cotton socks off behind the scenes to bring you the best possible events.

We are also going to be working with a professional company that will be looking after some of our social media platforms for us moving forward.

Look out for us on :

FaceBook

Twitter

Instagram

Linkedin

Tik Tok (yet to go live on that one)

and of course our blogs via the websites

Our websites are :

www.mac-auto-challenges.co.uk

www.veteransbangerrally.co.uk

We also are looking into visiting as many national motoring events throughout 2022 and 2023 as we can and this is where you all come in to play.

WE WOULD LIKE YOU ALL TO FIND AT LEAST TWO VEHICLE RALATED SHOWS IN 2022 IN YOUR AREA THAT YOU WOULD LIKE US TO ATTEND.

If we make it to your nominated show, it would be great to see you there.

All our events can also be found on the following sites :

www.drivenation.co.uk

www.carcalender.co.uk

www.stallfinder.co.ukand many many more............

The best way to find us is via a simple "Google search" (other platforms are availalbe)

We are also looking for advertisers that would like to appear on our socials and own websites moving forward too.

I know that this year has been a particularly crap one for most of the year and that the festive period that we expected this year is quickly disappearing from us almost daily, however, we must say a hearty thank you to each and every one of you that has taken part in our 2021 event, to everyone that has commented or asked a question, or even to everyone that has given us feedback (good or bad) to work on in the future.

Life will get better, restrictions will still be with us for some time to come, but we feel that if we organise and prioritise things and prepare as best we can, we can get through what the world has to throw at us and come out the other side better and stronger

Be strong, stay safe, enjoy life.

You only get one life, so why not enjoy life on one of our car rallies. Its no good laying on your death bed thinking, "Damn, I wish I would have gone on that stupid rally to Gibraltar!".

Only regret the things you do NOT do in life and not the things you have done"

We are going to sign off now until the new year.

On a personal note, from me (John the organiser)

*Please stay safe

*Hug your loved ones

*Never be alone (my email box is always open) and those of you with my contact number, my phone is always on.

* Have a wonderful festive season

See you next year..............

Kind Regards
